ITG Workshop on Photonic Integrated Circuits for Quantum Technology

Location:Pasteur-CabinetTrack:in presence
  • PIC

Chairs:

Prof. Dr. Lars Zimmermann (IHP- Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics)
Dr. Tolga Tekin (Fraunhofer IZM)

Abstract:

Throughout the world governments and large scale enterprises push for the exploitation of quantum physics in new domains such as computing, communications and sensing. While the foundations of quantum physics were developed in the first half of the 20th century, the industrial needs of manufacturability, low cost implementation and scaling define new challenges. With this ITG workshop we would like to bring together engineers and physicists working on quantum technologies deploying photonic integrated circuits. We would like to start a dialogue how to enable and facilitate within the German or European context the use of photonic integrated circuits for industrial applications of quantum information processing and related fields.

Invited Speakers:

All silicon quantum communication
Dr. Bernhard Schrenk (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology)

Integrated single photon detectors
Prof. Dr. Tim Bartley (Paderborn University)

Quantum random number generation using electronic photonic integrated circuits
Prof. Dr. Ilja Gerhardt (Leibniz University Hannover)

Integrated quantum photonics on LiNbO3
Prof. Dr. Christine Silberhorn (Paderborn University)

Perspectives for hybrid integrated quantum photonic circuits
Prof. Dr. Oliver Benson (Humboldt Universität zu Berlin)

Integrated quantum photonics on SiC
Dr. Boris Naydenov (Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin)
